CINCINNATI, OHIO – PeaceRise is thrilled to announce that applications and idea submissions for the PeaceRise Innovation Challenge are now open. In just four weeks since its launch, the platform has seen exponential growth, with participation from 168 Peace Partners across 22 countries engaging in informational braintrust sessions and contributing to a global dialogue on peace and innovation.
The challenge has garnered attention with two global webinars, a segment on Cincy Lifestyle (WCPO Channel 9), and an article in Movers and Makers magazine. Jeremy Fritzhand, Director of Startup Services at Alloy Growth Lab, emphasizes the significance of this growth: "The response to the platform has been overwhelming. We're building a global community of innovators united in their commitment to fostering peace through technology. This is just the beginning of our long-term vision to create a lasting impact on global innovation and peace efforts."
The platform has brought together various experts through its informational braintrust sessions, emphasizing topics such as sustainability and AI. Notable sessions include "Solving Problems with a Human Mindset" by Nomiki Petrolla, "PeaceTech in Action" by Steven Stavrou and Burak Douluay, and "Building BotsCrew and Workshop on AI Chatbots" by Max Gladysh. These sessions, along with others on digital marketing strategies and the founder's journey in the PeaceTech space, have provided participants with invaluable insights into leveraging technology for peace and societal impact.
The challenge culminates with live events in May 2024. The event, hosted at the University of Cincinnati 1819 Innovation Hub from May 3-6, will be a focused sprint culminating in the submission of a pitch deck. On May 10, teams will present their final pitches live for those participating in person and virtually for remote participants. The excitement peaks on May 11 with the Awards and Recognition ceremony, where winners will be announced and celebrated for their innovative contributions to peace.
Participants can expect a dynamic platform for showcasing their ideas, connecting with visionaries, and contributing to a transformative global movement. Applications and idea submissions are open until April 14th, 2024. Participants are encouraged to join the upcoming virtual brain trust sessions and submit their ideas to the challenge.
